Heroes of the Storm Tournament Rules

  • MAP POOL

    • The maps that will be played on during the tournament will be selected by tournament admins. A total of 5 maps will be showed to players during best of 3, and 7 total maps for the grand finals.

    • Each team will receive 1 map ban per match including grand finals. DRAFTS

    • Teams will be using heroesdrafts.com which the links will be provided by tournament admins.

    • Each team gets two hero bans.

  • ROSTERS

    • All players must be registered including subs and paid for before teams are allowed to participate.

    • Teams are only allowed up to 2 subs.

    • Team captains must report that they will be using subs before their match starts. Exceptions like emergencies and sudden computer outages must be discussed with an Admin.

    • Roster additions and removals must be reported to an admin before the next match.

  • SEATING

    • Teams will be placed as far apart as possible with a divider placed in between if need be.

    • Teams will be moved around if required based off if bracket seeding.

    • Teams have 15 minutes to move seats unless otherwise stated by tournament staff. 

  • REPORTING RESULTS

    • All matches must be reported to an Admin on the spot.

    • The winning team is responsible for sending in the results of the match. 

  • DISCONNECTIONS

    • If a player disconnects before first blood or before 5 minutes the match must be recreated using same picks and bans

    • If a player disconnects after first blood or after 5 minutes of play the match continues and the player must try and reconnect

    • Each team is allowed 3 pauses per match

  • FORFEITS

    • Occur when one or more members of the opposing team is not present after 20 minutes from start time.

    • Teams that are caught cheating in anyway will get an automatic forfeit. -Teams that get reported for being, rude, toxic or BMing will be confronted by tournament staff and consequences will be decided then and there.

  • ​​RULE CHANGES

    • The Administrators reserve the right to modify the rules as needed. This includes changes due to software updates or releases, event organizer decisions and all other changes deemed necessary to run a successful tournament. Players are responsible to check the rules on a regular basis and prior to the event to ensure they are in complete compliance. Players must understand that rules listed are guidelines to ensure fair and competitive play and are subject to interpretation by the administrators based on the spirit of the game
